If you don't have a reamer, you might just grind a spade-style drill bit to the taper you want.

Anyway, I have a tapered reamer, with a bit of a stub, so it CAN be chucked in a drill bit.

And, because the peg is made to the same angle as the reamer, it should work well, without a lot of final adjusting.
