Trying to make ukes accessible to those who ain't real fussy.

2-liter plastic bottle for head, held down by glue and thumb tacks.

Pegs disc sanded from 3/8 in dowel.

The  uke strings are 30, 50, 40, & 30 lb test fishline .

I call it the "Model P", so I can think they're complimenting my instrument, any time I hear anybody say that some instrument "....sounds like  P Uke!"

Good one Mike. Once again, you've made something out of almost nothing. And if you were ever stranded on a desert island, not only would you have a source of entertainment, you could re-assemble it into fishing gear.  :->

I still prefer the pre-metric sound.

My #6 daughter and I made one of these a couple of years ago - she decorated it up really nice with magic marker.

If you can even FIND a one-quart bottle, may as well put it on eBay as a genuine pre-metric Squared Eel banjo head, and let the serious collectors start bidding.

Ahh, those were the days, the sound of that one quart bottle, so solid, so sweet.

Some say

"Flattery will get you nowhere!"

But flattery got "Twiggy" a carrer as a fashion model.

Wasn't a model in the business flatter 'n she!

So, since I've gotten enough flattery, I'm going to plug in the microphone and post a plunk.

Please stand by.l

Oh, what the heck... get comfortable.

Please sit by.
