Have two SS Stewarts that I love. They are strung with Nylon strings which are a nice change of pace from steel string banjos.
My Thoroughbred had the wound nylon four string break, so after ignoring it for a while, I ordered a couple sets of new strings.
That meant the other Stewart's fourth string just broke.
So, now I have two sets of Nylon strings without fourth strings. Any of the other strings I would try to replace with fishing line.
Does anyone know where I can just get the fourth strings? Just in case this is something that is going to happen again.

I am GUESSING that they're not all that different from classical guitar strings.
Take the old string to your nearest guitar store, and see if the can match it.
Also, there's no "RULE" against twisting up some lighter-weight fishline to make a 4th.
That's what I've done on several of the banjos I made.

You can buy D'Addario EXP Classical D strings. Any dealer can order them for you; some online string dealers may have them.
These are coated and, unlike most, nylon core basses, they have four strands of wire in the core that make the tone a bit stronger and lets them go longer without breaking.
The coating keeps them bright for a very long time. You wouldn't believe me if I told you so you'll have to try them yourself.
There are three different gauges. I'd go with the lightest but you might try one of each to see what you prefer.
