I recently acquired an amazing 2003 Golden Cross. After checking the ser num with Geoff I found that this banjo was special ordered by Mickey Maguire in New York. An Amazing banjo picker who was playing for James Reams and the barnstormers at the time. I contacted Mickey and found that the banjo had quite a history for being such a later model. One of the things he told me was, Walter Hensley who was the first 5 string picker to ever play Carnegie Hall used the banjo to record with once. I'm low on data right now so I'll post some pics as soon as I can.😍
