I would hope that scoops would always be optional, not standard.  Goodtimes are decent, if rather overpriced IMO, beginners banjos.  I look forward to a new student showing up with a 12" Goodtime at some point in the future so I can check it out.

The banjo sounds really good.Imho it would be a good idea to offer it in a 25 1/2 scooped model that would sell like crazy .

It figures!       

They announced this banjo just two weeks after I was at Deering and bought an open back Goodtime there at their showroom.



But I say this all in good fun.  I am enjoying my Goodtime open back a lot.  So all is good and I'm really happy with what I have.





(But still.....the timing is uncanny!)

I already did. According to UPS tracking, it should arrive tomorrow. I'm trying to be patient... ha! Patiently climbing the walls.

If one of you gets one of these soon, you should upload your own demo video. It is always good (when you can only hear a banjo online) to hear it from more than one source and in more than one setting. I'm sure there are plenty of people (like myself) out there who want to see this banjo in action.

No tone ring. Would also love to hear some user reviews. I sold my first Goodtime because I preferred a 12" pot. I am thinking about picking up one of these as a travel banjo.
