I'm pleased to have been invited to present a Cello Banjo workshop at the Durango Bluegrass Meltdown in Colorado, April 12 - at 12 noon.
I'll be playing a selection of my own tunes and some growly sounds from the ancient East (BHO members get a free growl).
By a show of hands, how many of you will I meet there?
Here's some hyperbole Dan Paya, a bluegrass banjo player and Meltdown board member wrote about me.![]()

Heck, I'd go just to meet you, Paul! But Durango is a bit far from Joisey

If only! This would be brilliant, I love the sound of those things. Not sure what a free growl is, but it sounds awesome. A growler of beer or maybe I just get to put my head in the pot while the jo is being played, thereby growlifying my face??

Thanks for the moral support, Robert.
Zischkale - I like to toss around that word - growl - because that how Jim Reed always describes my low-toned meandering. I'm doing some growling over at Sound-Off if you want to be a Guinea pig for my experiments.![]()

I'd love to attend, but it's just too far away. Maybe you can video a few minutes of the workshop so the rest of us know what we missed.
