I'm pleased to have been invited to present a Cello Banjo workshop at the Durango Bluegrass Meltdown in Colorado, April 12 - at 12 noon.

I'll be playing a selection of my own tunes and some growly sounds from the ancient East (BHO members get a free growl).

By a show of hands, how many of you will I meet there?

Here's some hyperbole Dan Paya, a bluegrass banjo player and Meltdown board member wrote about me.blush

"When the Durango Bluegrass Meltdown decided to offer a workshop on the Cello Banjo there was no question but to ask Paul Roberts of Pagosa Springs to lead it. Paul has been very passionate about this instrument and is one of the top players in the US. He is also a dealer of Gold Tone Instruments and gives private lessons and facilitates numerous workshops throughout the year."

winkHeck, I'd go just to meet you, Paul! But Durango is a bit far from Joisey

If only! This would be brilliant, I love the sound of those things. Not sure what a free growl is, but it sounds awesome. A growler of beer or maybe I just get to put my head in the pot while the jo is being played, thereby growlifying my face??

Thanks for the moral support, Robert.

Zischkale - I like to toss around that word - growl - because that how Jim Reed always describes my low-toned meandering. I'm doing some growling over at Sound-Off if you want to be a Guinea pig for my experiments.wink

I'd love to attend, but it's just too far away. Maybe you can video a few minutes of the workshop so the rest of us know what we missed.
