Multi tracking. My goal was to combine some contrasting voices in an arrangement of one of my fav hornpipes, but it started to get a bit out of hand. So I called on one of my favorite young CH players, Travis to help bring it back down to earth for me. Thanks Travis!

Nice rendition especially the clawhammer part toward the end..Might have been nice to launch into a rousing "up to string band speed" to end it..

Too much fun!  Your harmonies dance up and down the deck and top out in the crow's nest.  I think you two must be doing a handstand up there as an encore.  This must be the best Fishers Hornpipe ever recorded!

That is a fair suggestion, but tempo changes are a bit of a nightmare in the multi tracking environment. Also - this arrangement was already getting ridiculously complicated! Thanks for the input.

Marc: I think I got up to about 14 tracks. I rather enjoy the editing/mixing process as it can be quite creative. There were 3 banjos, and multiple guitar and ukulele tracks because I often record things in sections rather than playing all the way through on a tune. However, you can overdo the 'process' part, and I felt like I was reaching that point. As you have shown, often all you need is one man and his banjo to make great music.. I'm glad you enjoyed it though.

Just great, and that's no surprise.  Laurence, I continue to be amazed at how you are able to play with such virtuosity while never straying into the realm of bad taste, as so many players with your chops do.  A fine job, also, of choosing collaborators and working the mixing board.  It doesn't get any better.  Thanks!

Thanks Bill I really appreciate your comments. Maybe it is a function of aging, I know that when I was younger I was more interested in being flashy than being tasteful. Now it's quite the reverse.
