I've just started a Kickstarter campaign to release an album of ballads, songs, and banjo tunes and thought you folks might be interested in checking it out (if for nothing else than oggling at my short neck Dave Large banjo from heaven).  The video starts with Barbara Allen (all 10,000 verses but if you skip along you'll hear The Lady of Carlisle with the banjo played in an overhand/clawhammer style). The album is going to have several acapella ballads and several accompanied by my own overhand/clawhammer and two finger banjo playing and some fiddle and guitar played by Jesse Wells.  The recording is mostly finished, just getting things in order now to finish up and get it printed.  I'm trying to spread the word, so you'd be doing be a huge favor in passing the link along to anyone you know who might be interested.  With you all being banjo minded, if you'd like to contribute but would like to have a more banjo-oriented reward like tablature or videos, shoot me an email at sarahwood3587@yahoo.com and I'll create one.

Thanks for the welcome, and for the live link!  It's great to see such an active banjo forum, I guess with all the laws preventing public gathering of banjo players, the internet is the final frontier!

Yes, Jim, this IS the Final Frontier.

Now pull that Hohner "Marine Band" out of your pocket, and let's try Barbara Allen one more time."

I posted this in the old time "other" area as well, I'm sure there's a way just to link it, but I'm not that technological.

I'm doing a 1 hour online concert at concertwindow.com on Friday January 17th at 10pm. It costs $1 to "get in" and after that you can tip if you want to or just sit and enjoy the show! I'm promoting my Kickstarter campaign and the concert will have a lot of music from the album including songs with the banjo and acapella ballads. I'm taking requests so if there's a banjo tune you'd like me to dig up and learn from the Kentucky Center for Traditional Music archives or a ballad or song you'd like to hear, just let me know!
