Hi everyone,

I am a first-time poster on the forum, but i have read many very useful and inspiring articles as I start my Banjo journey.

I recently bought an old Gibson banjo uke that someone was getting rid of. I was hoping I might be able to get more information about it on the forum.

Its named 'The Gibson" and is in fairly used condition. Its missing 1 tuner, the nut and resonator. I do have the original case and bridge though. Oddly, the neck is a dark mahogany finish while the body is light colored.

I only paid $50, so worst case I can hang it on the wall. Any help or insight as to what i have here would be much appreciated. I will try to link a couple of photos.

Thanks

Pat

Success.  Case is worth more than you paid, that was a steal.

Check out some of the completed listings from ebay:  ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=Gibso...amp;rt=nc

Hi Patrick

Strongly advise you to contact John Croft - The Ukulele Man - here in the UK before you start making any repairs. He is very knowledgeable on subject of the Banjolele

The neck looks like its from a Gibson UB2 but the pot is clearly from something else, not a Gibson. The UB 1s&2s, had dark pots, a small resonator the same size as the pot with metal spacers and a coordinator rod.

I would buy the neck in a flash if you wanted to sell !
