After 6 or 7 banjos in my short career I finally found my Keeper....I'm not saying I will never have another banjo....but I really don't think I will part with this one....That being said, I might want to have some custom inlay work done on the fingerboard. I know this is frivolous, but my wife would tell you that this whole late-life banjo addiction I have is. I checked with Bart Reiter....because he is someone I would obviously trust to work on my banjo.....but I think he is too busy right now (which is a good thing) to take on such work. I was wondering if any of you could make recommendations for who I might consider to work on my banjo.....Thanks very much, Rick

What kind (brand and model and age) of banjo are we talking about? It makes a pretty big difference.

Check Robert Anderson web page out. I ve been to his shop twice and his work is top notch. Engraving master. Don't know what u fancy but he enjoys theme work but keeps it looking traditional, in a good way, uses mostly sea snail.  His jobs look so perfect from 5 inches away and five feet. Just my two bits. Thanks a lot guys, this gives me some good stuff to work with......Dan....the Bacophone comes with just dots on the fingerboard and they look fine.....but I was thinking of spicing it up a little and make it kind of unique....nothing too fancy but I want it to be really good work....Rick

I just picked up my second Bart Reiter, a Whyte Laydie with the engrave Gryphon. My Custom Tubaphone has the flowerpot.

Check out DePauls for engraved Vega inlays:

 

Just find a decent Luthier that can drop these inlays into your neck. Buy direct and save some $$
