Hello everyone,

New to banjo, first post here. I've been getting into clawhammer and have ordered a fretless banjo with the red Aquila strings from Mr. John Peterson. Although I've only been playing around in standard G tuning, I'd like to prepare for branching out.

So my question for those of you who've been using the Red Series strings is: what issues such as breakage have you had with the higher tunings and how might you have resolved them? Has anyone used railroad spikes with the reds?

Thanks so much for all your friendly helpfulness and expertise here. I've learned a lot so far in these forums.

Regards,

Stephen

Tunings are a hoot, drop C, double C, Mountain Minor, D modal from G. Explore different roots for the 5th. fun.

I enjoyed the other thread immensely.
