I built a banjo using a goat skin head. Is there anything I can apply to the head so that it isn't so sensitive to moisture/humidity?

it will always be sensitive to humidity. however, you can pop off the tension hoop, pull the head/flesh hoop, spray the whole thing down with a silicone-based waterproofing spray, let it dry, then reinstall. i find that it may or may not help. we're still dealing with organic materials here.
in any event, there are at least one or two threads about this. look in the hide-heads subforum here. i believe john balch started the thread.
