Hey folks,

Does anyone know if the Banjo Hut is still in business?  I have called both of the numbers I have for them (web page and google) and dont get anything but a ring until either a fax answers on one number, or I after 7 rings or so, I drop to a busy signal on the other.

I was going to buy an R80 from them since they offer a package for the same price that everyone else is offering for just the banjo and case.

Thanks!

Aldwyn

That would be weird when they have a July sale advertised:

That's the phone number with the issue...

Perhaps the phone lines are out of commission at the moment?

Have you tried emailing them? thebanjohut@thebanjohut.com

Aldwyn - Posted - 07/13/2013:  19:06:18

I tried both the phone number on the website, as well as the one off google (different number). Neither seemed to be working.

Thanks, Dingoman... I havnt tried to email them, but will. Perhaps their phones are down as you mentioned, and they dont even know it.

I was just curious of anyone knew what might be going on.

Oh wow I've been to that little store before. I bought a case there two years ago when I was in Knoxville again.

A friend of mine lives not too far away from there I'll see if he might be willing to drive over and take a look...

They might just be tied up at a festival somewhere... it's a small but cool shop.

Banjoy may have a point. Isn't the NAMM show winding down today? That may be where they are.

Aldwyn - Posted - 07/14/2013:  06:51:00

Indeed... looks like Summer NAMM wraped up yesterday. So perhaps they were closed, and their answering machine just wasnt working (or they have none).

Thanks for the offer, Banjoy. Kind of you (and your friend)! But I dont want to put anyone out. If they vanish, I have other choices.

jwoods - Posted - 07/14/2013:  12:23:19

Yeah...I don't think it's because of NAMM.

This was posted on Facebook on April 7th...

Got my new banjo. Problems, and your phone number on your website sounds like a fax machine... Now what?

Try banjo.com....they will usually be willing to match Banjo Hut.   At least they did for me a few years ago.

I ended up buying from banjoteacher.com.

Even saved a few bucks... I was able to get some extra stuff and still stay below the price a lot of the other guys were offering just the banjo for.

Looking forward to it! Been playing guitar for 40 years... but this will be my first banjo!

Glad you found your banjo from a dealer with one in stock.

The RK-R80 is in current production but short supply. If I back-ordered one right now, I don't know when I would see it.

A lot of the drop-ship guys claim that they have everything in stock. Not true and none of them have the R80.

Buy from a dealer who will confirm a delivery or, if backordered, can give you an estimate. In other words, make sure there's a person on the other end of the line and not an auto-responder just waiting to take your money.

Yep, seems to have worked out. Talked to Ross at banjoteacher.com today and he said the set up should be done today, and it should be shipped tomorrow.

Looking forward to it!

Oh, and FYI, I received an email reply from banjohut. While they didnt comment on my pointing out their phone numbers didnt seem to be working, they did say they close at 2 on Saturdays, which is about when I started to call them.

So they are still in business.

I don't see an R80 in any of the pictures from Summer NAMM. It will surprise me if the model is in the lineup much longer.
