Greetings,
Please forgive any breach of protocol as I am new to the Forum, but quick intro here. My Name is Allen. I am fairly new to to Banjo and have only been playing Banjo since Last October. I practice about an hour per day and I feel I am at a point where I need to start playing with others to make sure I continue to improve. I have attended a couple of Jam Sessions with some great folks at the Contented Cow in Northfield, MN. They have been a great group to play with, however their style of play doesn't necessarily align with my Clawhammer Banjo playing. I wanted to throw out a feeler to see if there are any folks interested in attending an Old Time Jam session if I tried to get one started in or near Farmington, MN. I would be willing to find a location close to Farmington if needed. Some example songs that I have been practicing to give an idea of the type of music I would like to Jam and improve with others on: Mountain Dew, Baltimore Fire, Wildwood Flower, Whiskey in a Jar, Wreck of the Ole '97, Arkansas Traveler. I also am a huge fan of the Avett Brothers as well as a side note. :)

Send me an email and we'll take it from there.

Hey Allen, check out the Homestead Pickin' Parlor in Richfield. They sponsor and host jams all the time and are nice people. Even if they have nothing you are interested in they might be able to point you someplace. You might talk to them about any requests they might have had like yours.
I get over to the cities off and on to see family and try to drop in on the Saturday morning jam at Bear Creek Crossing near Como Park. Even if you don't play the Blueberry pie is great.

Thanks Wizofos. Appreciate the Tip! I have stopped by there and worse case I could make the trek north of the river. :)

Good day folks! I am hosting an Old Time Jam Session on the First and Fourth Thursday of every month at Dunn Brothers in Farmington, MN from 6:30pm to 8pm. Please let me know if anyone is interested. Since I myself am a Novice we obviously welcome all levels and ages. We will try to stick to Old time Music for the most part from a Genre perspective, but other than that we will keep it loose and have a good time!
