Broke the toilet...same as before.
Need plumber or maybe I can fix it with a trip to the hardware.
He's really really hard on toilets.
Consider this a rant.![]()
Don't matter tonight. I am off to bed. He has to pee outside. (and not on my plants)

Nancy, i think its time he got his own toilet, i mean how is a lady s'posed to work without a fully functioning toilet?
And lets face it, they are pretty hard to break....just sayin'....

Get one of your plumber handyperson friends to rig up a flush mechanism like the Old Style, with a pull chain.
Have a device which stops the chain after it reaches a certain point, and one of those heavy-duty springs near the other end.
plumbingsupply.com/imag...-white.jpg" /> <---------- the flush The spring---->

He can pull real hard, but if the pull chain runs through a securely-mounted chunk of lumber, and has a cross-rod which stops it when the rod hits the top of the lumber, that's about as far as it's going to go.

This is a push button flush that is less capable of being used incorrectly.
The link seems to be for just the picture, but it only costs about $15.

It's morning. Trip to hardware is planned.
Meditating on the value of outhouses this morning.

Hang in there Nancy!
And cover the plants, at least the ones near the back porch.

Good thinking. Too late. He pees off the end of the deck. Flowering vine dead....that makes two of them dead. Two flowering vines bite the dust.
Lord help me to accept the things that I cannot change. (I say that a lot).
Photo...of plant...last one on the left replaced twice...nothing there now cause it's dead.
Ps. I have a sign out there...NO PEEING OFF THE PORCH...and he can't read.

I installed one of these a while back. It's also a dual flush system, less water.

Interesting. My water bill has to be brought in on a 16 wheeler truck the thing is so large.
I will check at the local hardware. I am NO plumber or mechanic. Will do what I can. I have limits...and they are tight.
Trying to maintain a sense of humor. Not always easy. I try never to get real mad...and am slow to anger..cause: when I get mad I am like that dog Rover, when he died ...he died all over.![]()

Hook up an electric fence charger to some chicken wire on insulators above the vines. That ought to put an end to that activity at that location once a continuous stream comes in contact. ☺
It's sometimes possible to rotate the flusher mounting so that the interior lever comes in contact with the underside of the tank lid, stopping any more travel of the flush lever. Some sort of stop which contacts the lid can also be bolted to the interior lever if the flusher can't be rotated enough. Usually the chain is adjusted long enough that it just breaks the seal of the flapper valve when the flush lever is pushed and not short enough to allow damage to the flapper.

Visions dance before my eyes. Yes. A teepee....I have poles. Can use canvas for cover. Make sure it won't blow away so bury poles good...(winds). Paint nifty Indian signs and what on the canvas. Door ...velcro...yes. I can see it now. Place some cement blocks in the middle of that teepee...as a throne. Put the porta-potty that is doing nothing on those blocks...that way, short distance to sit in peace. (I have a chemical thingy for that toilet). Keeping it simple. Use that black iron pot hanger beside that toilet to hang toilet paper on...(I have to figure out how to do this..but, bet me...I can. )
Only investment would be the canvas. I can probably get that over to the Re-Store dirt cheap. (I have a frugal mind) If not there, check and get a painters canvas..okay if it has paint on it...I can enhance that into something arty. One thing...I do art work..but this can't be like ELVIS..must be earthy. Elvis was Not very earthy in dress. Navajo neighbors may have put in on this....there I go...thinking. Mind is doing cartwheels. I do that as habit, probably.
If I get stuck, there's daughter's boyfriend that is a genius at doing all kinds of things...like putting up teepees...he has a couple in the piney woods for camping already. Knows how to do this feat. They are mad at each other at the moment. Hopefully, they will be glad again and I can ask him.
Now that thought occupies my head. I know..I know....it does NOT take much to entertain me.
Nancy
Thanks Jessie.

Wonders never cease!![]()
I hear strange noises coming from the bathroom. He's awake. In there. He yells..
"Hey, the toilet won't flush!"![]()
My mind races to say a few thousand words...not all of them kind.![]()
But, hold my Peace. and say: (wait for this)...................![]()
"How about that?"![]()

Nancy...and my day begins...(sigh)

Yup, the one Steve mentioned. I installed one of those a couple of months back - couldn't be easier. They sell them at the Home Depot. There's a video on this link somewhere how to install them and they sure do save a lot of water.
Crusty: according to the Myth Busters the electric fence scheme don't work ![]()
Crusty - Posted - 06/20/2013: 09:35:19
Not certain from experience whether it works with a fence charger (I guess not then since the myth busters tested it) but I witnessed it working as expected using a Model T coil configured as an energizer. Probably the pulses are too far apart from a fence charger.

Trotted over to hardware, bought stuff.
Had the companion hold the flashlight...so he KNOWS to be more careful. Bothered his job...Here I will tell you about his TWO JOBS. One is putting food in his mouth and the Other Job is watching tv. That's the whole and lot of it...those two jobs. Nothing else. No responsibilities. He doesn't do any.
Now to do lunch. Spaghetti and dessert is pound cake split with strawberries and whipped cream...double that. Not for me.
Life moves along....and is all good again.
Toilet flushes. (till next time he does this again)
Nancy the Plumber
Have hopes for some banjo time...not sure of that.

But everything that happens twice will surely happen a third time, often said after the occurrence of two, in anticipation of occurrence three. Bad things come's in threes! …Be most careful!!...Woooo !..y’all could have Woooo !..coming !? ...

You could be correct.
Daughter shot herself with a nail gun. That was a heck of an accident. She's back to work, and doing well.
Maybe that takes care of the bad JUJU.
Hope so.
Back to cooking.....

Need a bomb-proof convenience, Nancy? How about one of these?.....Guaranteed unbreakable.

Mind you, you'll have to buy Tollingham Castle as well!
roxygrl - Posted - 06/20/2013: 13:15:29
Nancy, I missed your post about your daughter so pleased that she okay now, three of a kind refers to exactly the same event, superstition or JuJu call it what you will, enjoy your meal !

The castle sounds super great...but it would cost a fortune to heat?
Like that potty. He can't bust that one so easy.
Thinking....thinking....thinking....etc.
Love unbreakable things. ![]()
Day going well, and toilet still works...how about that? ![]()

Pushing the handle moves the arm.
The arm lifts the flapper.
Next time he breaks it, either kill him, OR
Remove the tank top, and replace it with a plywood top. Have a stout nylon twine running from the flapper, though a hole in the plywood, to a pair of pulleys in the ceiling. Have a loop tied in the twine, looped over a securely fastened hook in the wall. Have a pull handle on the end of the twine.
The loop will allow the twine to move a certain distance, and no further, when the handle is pulled.
The whole rig won't cost as much as replacing whatever he broke.
And nowhere near as much as a funeral, if you go for option [A].
