I use, for both, 4 mm and 3.5 mm under fourth and first strings respectively.

I don't think there in any one answer for the string height question. It changes with the individual and the different banjos. I do not think that there are two heights for the 2 different right had styles(speaking in terms of being right handed). Clawhammer is often up the neck, over a cut-out and when switching to a finger picking style, the hand often moves down over the head. this movement can cause a change in string height as well as tone.
that's what I find myself doing. I usually have a banjo for a couple of months before I stop tinkering with stuff...just my thoughts
