Does anyone have tabs for this song?

That's what I figured. Kind of a tough one imo, or I wouldn't ask.

A couple months ago, I'd have agreed with you. But now I'm not so sure that it's as tough to tab as you'd think. There is another YouTube clip where Hartford plays Down the River Road right after Gentle on My Mind as a solo thing.

I worked out Gentle on My Mind EXACTLY like Hartford played it. It's the way Hartford uses hammer-ons and pull-offs that can throw you since there are multiple left hand actions for an individually picked string with the right hand. And he approaches rolls differently from many other pickers. It took me a couple hundred listenings to passages and several hours of work, but I finally broke that code.

The point is that it is worth the effort. I could now tab out Down the River Road with a couple hours of effort. You should give it a shot, too, and see how far you get.

I'll try it this weekend if I can get some time (home remodeling takes priority as well as another banjo project). Let's compare notes on Monday.

I'm going to a BG festival this weekend, get my Hand Grenades fix. I will give it some work this next coming week and how about we compare notes on the 24th. I checked out the version you spoke of, and it's much easier to hear and see what John's doing there. Thanks for replying man, pick on!
