A friend recently told me this story. He was busking with his fiddle on a busy street and his fiddle case had acquired several dollars. Next to his case a dirty, smelly, homeless guy was sitting and rocking forward and back.. My friend was sure that the homeless guy was getting ready to grab some of the money in the instrument case. JUST when it looked like the theft was about to occur, the homeless guy reached into his pocked, pulled out an apple, and put it in the case.. Of course that was a very humbling experience for my friend.... and me also, just to have heard the story. The apple was probably everything he had...Giving the apple is proof that the homeless guy was indeed very wealthy. Do YOU have a story to tell about busking? |

On a business trip to Toronto some years ago there was this long haired kid sitting near the subway entrance playing real nice clawhammer stuff. I got to talking to him and a let me fondle his banjo. A real nice guy who turned out to be Chris Coole. Yup, one cool Chris for sure!
