Yes, it's pricey but you'll have one, your buddy won't and Bart ain't making them any more. Even if he was, you wouldn't get it for that.

This will have the Bacon 'doughnut' tone ring that used to be available from Stew-Mac.

If I could still play, I'd be beating everyone to the punch on this. It was my favorite stock Reiter ever.

OK, my favorite Bart Banjo of all time is the Vegaphone conversion I own with the Coles 3000 inlays but, till I saw that, I wanted one of these. Still do actually... My wife has this thing about me buying instruments that I can't play anymore. Go figure.

I hope the seller gets his price... I don't know anyone that would build a similar banjo for that price today (I mean a real Bacon-style rim with the full internal resonator and tone ring ... plus engraved inlay).

As time goes on, it seems like the ones Bart made are available less frequently. But they do still come up from time to time.  I've seen them go high - and ridiculously low. This traditional style is not the hottest "fashion trend" in open back banjos these days.  So is a very thin market. Just depends on what the next fellow is willing to pay.

I like mine - they are not for sale.

Yeah, I guess that "pricey"  was more a reflection of my current financial state than anything to do with the banjo in question. We see Omes and such selling for more than that without a thought. Anyway, just posting a heads-up for those with the desire and the means.

I think that's an extremely attractive price for a banjo this nice from such a reputable builder. For those who go for this "type" of banjo, that is.
