This Reiter "plus" configuration (with both whyte laydie & Bacon tone rings) is my personal favorite for playing with a band, in a jam session, or recording.  I haven't play Fred's bacophone-plus banjo, but I've been told (by David Emery) that is is a very good one.



If I didn't have two of these already, I'd buy it.  Here are some sound samples on my "plus" banjos

John you are correct; a while back Fred was able to drop by the house and he brought along that Reiter. It was in a very nice brown bump case and for all practical purposes was "like new." For anyone looking for a great sounding banjo I consider these (too) a bunch of banjo for the money. The tone was clear and strong. I hope a Reiter fan or soon to be Reiter fan picks it up soon from you Fred. David E.
