I am looking for a Alvarez Montana 5 Star, Model 4286 in Excellent to Near Mint condition. Would prefer the seller was close to Atlanta, GA so I could play the banjo before I buy it but will consider regardless of location.
I have looked at the two listed in the Hangout classifieds. The one from PA is a little out of my price range and I do not like the capo rod. I would consider the one from Miami, FL but would prefer one from later in the 70's.

Thanks again for pointing me in the direction of the Montana 5 Star on the Nashville craigslist. I met the seller yesterday and bought the banjo. It is a really nice banjo. Not quite as good as it sounded on craigslist but it is cleaning up really nicely. I love the way it sounds and plays.
