Well its amazing the people you see in person and meet and don't even know that you know them on here.
The other day NCJones had posted about his new Huber was on the way and me half joking told him to bring it to Fountain tonight and let me break it in. Much to my surprise he said he'd be there. Lo and behold he walks in and sure enough I had done met him there before. He let me have full use of his BRAND NEW HUBER VRB3. I had never played a Huber Banjo but boy what a treat. Brand new its a great sounding and playing banjo. I played our entire first set on it. Other than a tuner instrumental and Reuben because he didn't have Dtuners.

All I can say it wow the banjo out the box is a great. After it plays in and begins to open up its going to be a hoss. Classic mahogany tone. Had an awesome 4th string. My guitar player even commented during the set "Man that's a good sounding banjo" crisp tone all the way up the neck. Up there the notes just pop and decay so fast your hear each one individually. Really great feeling neck too. The profile isn't quite a V shape but its slim and fast playing and notes out great. If I were to order one it would be a speed neck...only because my hands sweat and get sticky and I'm spoiled by the one on my 26. All around just one heck of a banjo. Solid easy picking and great tone.



The Bad....well there ain't no bad about it other than now I'm wanting one lol. Guess I'm going back to picking up pennies and eating bologna sandwiches and Vienna's till I save enough!

Thanks again to Anthony for being so open to me picking it. He just let me use it like it was mine and I enjoyed every minute of it. Don't know if you got a CD but if you didn't let me know and I'll send one to you.

So Steve Huber if you read this...how bout sending me one on endorsement? Lol wishful thinking huh! For real though I don't think you can go wrong if you want a quality professional grade banjo with Huber.

Hey I agree with possum hubers are nice. I have played a Jim Mills model that are buddy Tom white owns. ONly thing is who in the hell can afford them in this day of time.

Lee, I'd love to get down to Little John's this weekend , but I've got a gig Saturday night. By the way, you remember my -1 you played at Tarboro last summer has a Huber in it too.
