Acorn Hill is an old Tommy Jackson tune I believe, that was also played by Caroll Best - and our own Dave Hum! You don't hear it played that often.I should add that I learned this version from Kenny Smith. As far as tasty, clean guitar picking goes, he's the man!
Bill Cheatum needs no introduction, but no apologies for the non-fiddle key. There wasn't a fiddler for miles around when I was playing this! ![]()

Gorgeous work, vintage Big L. I can see this happening on a stage to our delight.

Thanks Travis! I think that hearing some of your arrangements lately with guitar made me think of doing something like this, and since I learned Acorn Hill from a guitar player it was a no-brainer to include a gtr solo in there.I know some people prefer solo banjo. I think I like both, just depends.

Beautiful Laurence. Great guitar work as well. I've never heard that first tune.

That guitar break was so clean L. Absolutely perfect. I want to hear you play guitar on your tracks more often. I loved it.
