If you have not contacted Jim for a copy of his new CD, you had better do just that. One of the best productions I have heard in a long time. If this gets out to the masses of true bluegrass music lovers around the world, Jim will not be able to keep them in stock. Track 2 had the best Cumberland Gap I have ever heard. It is simply amazing. The entire CD has a home spun, captivating feel within and I for one just love it.
Thanks to everyone who had a hand in the making of this CD and especially to Jim Reed. He is the one and only and if you have never met or spoke to Jim here on the Hangout, I suggest you do just that, you will never be the same after I assure you. His warm hearted, truly down to earth spirit leaves a mark on you. That I promise you. Just take a listen to the Donnie's Way Home video, which he wrote for me after our first visit and before I even made it home that day. It is on his Hangout page. He has wrote tunes for many of his friends and I am very proud and thankful to have met Jim. He has taught me much more than just banjo related things, and I am a better man for it.

I can honestly say I like all the tunes on this CD. I'm grateful that he put it out.

I received mine on Christmas Eve and just had to smile and listen to it the whole way home. I put Maple Blossom on repeat and even learned it today. It was fun to see his photos on the CD and to read the various BHO member names who worked with him on this. I like supporting Jim by purchasing his new CD and only wish I'd paid more than the $15 for both the CD and the download!

Thanks for that link, Frank. What a great "project" you did there Jim! Thanks!
I listened to all the tunes, and there wasn't one I didn't like. Good job!
I put my order in two minutes ago. It's downloading and I'll wait for the CD.
This CD and this music is as down home/ front porch picking if ever there was one.
You know, as many times as I've both played and heard Sail Away Ladies and
Cripple Creek - - the two versions found here are refreshing and inspiring. I can
pick up any instrument and pick along with the CD. It's perfect for "backtracking".
This is a "must have" album for any and all pickers.

I got my copy downloaded and bought the cd itself. Great clean picking and Jim's style is sure a nice mix. There is also a tab book available and I bought it to steal every lick I can get. Real nice job by Jim Reed and Family and Friends.

I ordered the Jim Reed, "Family and Friends" CD 5 weeks ago, and did the Digital Download. I was great listening on the computer with head phones.
I noticed that the flag was up on my mailbox this morning, I walked out the lane, and found the CD in my mailbox. I went in, opened it and played it right away on my CD Player. Wow! what an improvement. The great music sounded even better on larger speakers. Congratulations and thanks to Jim and all of the great accompanying musicians, including my buddy, Don Couchie.
What a great way to end the year!
