Man, I love mushrooms. They're good on moose, trout and seal. You can find some funny ones in the woods. I ;ike to take the odd picture when I'm floating about the woods. Good time of year for taking shots of mushrooms. Lot's of varaties. This ones an elfin saddle.

Back in the mid to late 1970's, I worked at Morgan Monroe State Forest (Indiana).

It was a hop, skip, and a jump away from Bean Blossom and a good job to boot.

When the morels were in season, we'd bust our butts to get done with work early.

Then (when done), we'd all head back into the woods to look for the Morels on our

own time.  Mighty fine eating and worth the search!

When I saw Shrooms I expected psilocybin mushrooms. You knew that right. You really have to know what your doing gathering wild mushrooms there are some poisonous ones.

How about Santa and amanita muscaria the fly agaric mushroom represented by Santas red and white outfit and the flying reindeer. Its part of the culture in Siberia, the deer eat the mushrooms too, theres a feeling of flying. Its extremely interesting isn't it .Also witches fly same thing different psychedelic drug. There dose was applied with a broom stick-say no more. The witch hunts were a suppresion of knowledge traditionaly known by women healers, they called witches,and the confiscation of property. There is  a fungus among us in almost every culture. Shroom talk I like it.

We hunt morels, chanterelles, and chicken of the woods.

The ones in the green mesh bag are black morels and the rest are yellows.  I found the blacks in March during the heat wave and the yellows in May.

My buddy Greg and I used to hunt for Morels in the woods of Southeast Missouri.  We also found a lot of Ginseng.  The Missouri Ginseng we used to sell for 40 dollars / ounce back in the late 70's and early 80's.  I also used to get a lot of Sassafras root to make tea out of.

A professor at Southeast Missouri State University was a self avowed mushroom expert.  He got hold of the wrong shrooms and put himself in the hospital and nearly died.
