That's a great looking banjo, I love my Bacon Belmont for OT playing, bet this one sounds real nice...interesting how the resonator attaches versus later Bacon's with the single screw...

I have only one Bacon RK so far in my database - I take, that the model is rather rare. These banjos are most likely manufactured early 50s - after the BG craze had started.



It will have a Type III Silver Bell tone ring, a 3-ply rim and 4 thumb screws for the attachment of the resonator assembly. If an Oettinger had been present, the whole pot assembly would have been almost identical with that of a late 20s or 30s Silver Bell.
