Im thinking its a E7

Bar position  E chord at the 9th fret with the 7 note  at the  7 fret third string ?

Do I win a prize if Im right?

I played it a bit ( Quickly) and sounds that way as well.

I would need to go back and review to be certain.

This is a G chord variation.  It is the D formation played at the 7th fret which gives a G but the ring is playing a G# note on the 2nd string. The Index is playing a D note on 3rd and the pinky is playing a B on first. The middle would normally be on the 2nd string 8th fret but is not required there because the ring is playing the 2nd string at the 9th.

If you add the notes G# B and D you get a  G# Diminished chord. I am not very familiar with the tune but I believe this is being played to colour the G chord section of it.

It's an E7, minus the E note. It does have the notes of a partial G# diminished, but I don't know any band that puts a G# diminished in Raw Hide ;)

Bridge of Raw Hide: E7 / / / / / / / A7 / / / / / / / D7 / / / / / / / G7 [stop — tacet 4 bars]

73, Brennen

Pretty much what I was thinking.

Why would anyone go to the trouble to learn it in G when its never going to be played there?
