Thinking about a new open back. Trying to decide whether to get the Reiter Round Peak or the OME Wizard. Since I am in Asia I don't have the ability to go to a shop and play them to compare but instead have to listen to sound clips and get the advice of others.
To those who have seen both, please let me know your opinion. I am sure both are great banjo's.

both are excellent banjos, and both are quite different. the wizard has a shorter scale and wider nut width, no metal tonering.
both sound quite different as well.

I was very impressed with the Ome Wizard. I'd probably go with that one; suits my style.

I am leaning towards the Wizard, however I have played a Reiter Standard and was impressed by both the quality and playability.
Prefer not such a bright sound and with the wooden tone ring the Wizard has, that probably suits me a little better

The Round Peak is like a Standard with a larger pot (26 3/16" scale), and it's comparable to an Ome Juniper. The Wizard is a short-scale banjo (25.5"), so keep that in mind.

I have a Reiter Round Peak (so clearly I'm biased 
). I've played with the set up quite a bit just to experiment and it's capable of a wide range of tones. It is very warm and has a nice growl without sounding muddy.
The Omes that I've heard are usually pretty bright and they have a very clear sound that cuts through nicely when playing with others. Aesthetically, the Wizard is a bit more refined and that is reflected in the price difference between the two. Gryphon Strings has sound samples of both so that may help you compare:

Either way I don't think you can go wrong as they are both very high quality instruments. I hope this helps, good luck with your purchase!

The Round Peak should be significantly less bright than the Standard.
