Hi
I'm a new owner of a tack head fretless banjo with nylon strings and was wondering is there a big difference between med & light strings ......ei volume , treble & bass ? any comments appreciated. Thanks .. C.J.

I like a heavier gauge just for the feel. The lighter gauge do not provide as much resistance/feedback to me.
Bear in mind though, that I also play wire strung and use Trilene for my nylon strung. YMMV.

I just changed to a heavy set of minsterel and it sounds and feels like a different banjo, more tone and volume.
