Just a heads up to mention that I'll be doing a 'Reno' workshop in April via the BHO chatroom. All the details are listed in the "tabs and lessons" area of the Hangout. This should be lots of fun. Don's always been one the great banjo innovators and his style doesn't get nearly enough visibility. Check out the details of this workshop and see if it interests you.
Thanks for your time-![]()
I just wanted to give a quick shout of thanks to everyone who participated in the workshop today! Hopefully you'll take away some useful insights into fundamental Reno and add some of those sounds into your picking soon. ![]()

Thanks Richard. I just fired up a new more powerful computer, so my video and audio quality is much better than the previous workshops. Unfortunately it still doesn't make me anywhere as good as Don was..dangit. That computer guy said that this sound card has "Reno" chip in it...![]()

I am having Nellie over tonight for a jam, along with some guy named Reno. Maybe I can get her to do a quick video. Say hi to the HO and all.

I'll do my small part, whenever I can. Don was a huge influence on me growing up. But its guys like you and other 'hardcore' Reno style players who are really keeping it going and exposing it to the world. ![]()

Posted this morning a video of Don Wayne playing Nellie last night, a special treat for the HO.

Shes a special banjo, for sure. No one could make it sound like Don could. Unfortunately there's not been much interest in the workshop so far. ![]()

Hey John, if I'm going to try to be there, if my schedule permits. That will be 3:00-4:30, Central time zone, right??

Ok, when I book this time slot for a workshop,. it didnt dawn on me that it was Easter weekend! So, We will be moving the workshop to NEXT Sunday, April 15th. Sorry for the confusion and the change, but I don't want to interfere with Easter at all. So, anyone still interested in joining, take note of this change. Thanks!

I'd really like to John, but Sundays are usually full days for me with faith and family.

I completely understand-church and family always first. Sunday, mid afternoon seems to be the best time for most folks, in regards to the time zones, but not everyone can make it then. You can always get a copy through the BHO if you like. ![]()
