I had this gig posted on BHO's calendar of events, but that feature is not used much here on BHO. I rarely use it myself!!
Oh heck. We picked there last Friday (two nights ago) March 2, 2012.
Fayssoux and I drove up early and played live on the radio WTCQ AM 1600 in Hendersonville, then drove to Fletcher and did the gig.
Sorry you missed it. That place rocks!!!
Here is Fayssoux McLean's website, she will have future gigs posted there, and we are going to be booked there again early Fall. As soon as I know a date, I will post it here.

Wow, Frank! Not only famous, but playing with the greats, too!! I remember Fayssoux well, from the Emmylou albums to Mike Auldridge's Blues and Bluegrass. (Big wistful sigh)

Yeah Fayssoux is a sweetheart I tell you. Her ex-husband was John Starling and his band was The Seldom Scene. It's cool to hear her tell stories about the glory days.
She and EmiLou are big buddies. Fayssoux sang backup on EmiLou's first six albums.
Fayssoux also recently did a track for Tom T. Hall's recent album I LOVE: Songs of Fox Hollow. Can't remember the cut but it's getting a lot of airplay apparently.
I hope this band can do something. Actually this is her band: Fayssoux McLean and The Bluegrass Messengers. If nothing else it's a lot of fun.
I was at an open mic last night with Fayssoux and Wes Wyatt. Apparently it was webcast. Next time I do that I'll get a copy of it and post to SoundOff.
Thanks for your kind comments. I'll tell Fx that someone one BHO recognized her—and someone from from Scotland no less!! Cool.

Congrats on the Article Banjoy.
You are forgetting one of the worlds greatest banjo players who was raised in Spartanburg and is my daughter's favorite. Me! OK, on of those statements is not true. You decide which one.
Spartanburg certainly has a great musical history. I went to school with several of the Caldwell clan and my brother just finished renovating Toy Caldwell's mothers house.
Also, Pink Anderson the blues artist was raised in Spartanburg, and purported to be part of the inspiration behind the band name Pink Floyd.

WOW yoss you brought up Pink Anderson!!! You're right!!! The rock band Pink Floyd did pull their name from Pink Anderson...
And as I look, there's also The Blue Ridge Quartet, and the obscure but awesome band The Uncle Walt's Band. Here's a cool site they set-up last year here in Spartanburg:
The Spartanburg Music Trail: Musicians
I didn't even know about Pink Anderson until he was inducted into th Music Trail last year. I'm hoping they'll induct Bobby Thompson soon. They got a long list of nominees for sure...
