In the last video we discussed how to use your left hand and chord shapes in order to create variations on songs you already know.  This time we use our Right hand to create alternate ways of playing the same melody, the song "Cripple Creek" is used:

Jody, this is the first time I've really tried to play along with anything like this. I introduced one of the rolls and for me it transformed the music I was hearing. THANK YOU.

It is very nice tutorial indeed.

What right hand fingers do you use on the 1st string in the 1321 roll - just the [repeating] middle finger MTIM MTIM or you involve the index finger to avoid repetition (ITIM ITIM) ?

Hey I will soon do a video on the B section of "Cripple Creek."
The first thing you need to do is determine what is the melody and then what string you want to play it on. In this case you want a roll that emphasizes the B note.

You could do a 2 to 4 slide while using a forward reverse roll (32151231) or if you want to make it very simple you could use a 2-521521 roll, second string open.

There are a lot of options.
