Hi. I really have no business hanging out on banjo forum, can't play a lick, but I did pick up a B&D "Senorita" beauty, and I have a few questions if I can intrude for a bit.

Where would I find the serial #?

It says it's made by Bacon in Groton, CT.

It's got an olive color tone to it, and the interior of the case is green.

Any idea what I've got here?

Thanks!

Remove the resonator (single screw in back).  The serial number will be on the dowel stick and rim.

Here is a database of information re: serial numbers - acoustudio.dk/BD_and_Bacon_database.html

Is it a 19 fret tenor like this one?

Sure looks like it. It does have 19 frets, and everything else looks the same except for the, and please excuse the lack of proper name here, the metal thingy holding the strings on the bottom. Mine seems to have a cover that covers about half of the end.

It's called a "Tailpiece". Sounds like yours has a Presto like my Kingston:

The Senorita is an entry-level banjo, but is still a wonderful quality instrument.

Do you play any guitar? You can tune it DGBE and play it very soon!

It's from 1930. Had a banjoist play it yesterday. He proclaimed it to be "amazing"!

Any idea what it may be worth, and the best place to sell it? Do I go see the Old Man on Pawn Stars? :)

If interested in a sale - do write me offline - I´m an international collector/dealer with B&D banjos as a speciality - polle@acoustudio.dk - maybe we can make a nice deal.
