I'm "on the fence" trying to decide between the banjo you ordered, a KK-3 or a Deering Eagle II.

What made you decide on the Cimarron?  Or was it your first choice.?

I was really thinking between the Bishline, a Hatfield, and a KK standard. Something kept bringing me back to the Bishline. The specifics of the banjo for the price helped as it fit in perfectly with my budget. I must say that if I follow in the path of so many here and end up with many Banjos I think I would go with Hatfield next. I researched for days on here and youtube as well as their sites and it always came back to Bishline. I dont think I had this much anticipation since christmas eve when I was a child.

All three brands you mentioned - -  American Made! 

I've never heard anything bad said about ANY of them.

Congrats! I've had my Salty Dog for almost three weeks now and love it so much that the frosting has already started to wear off. I hope you love yours as much as I love mine.

Congratulations on the new banjo.  It is nerve-racking to wait for the delivery truck on the day it is to arrive.  And then, opening the box, the wrapping, opening the case and there she is!  It is like Christmas! Bishlines are great.  You won't want to put it down!

Bishline's sound awesome and I am sure the work is awesome. The only thing I can't get past is the stacked heel. I wanted to get a Salty Dog for a lot of reasons but after building several of my own instruments I can't bring myself to paying nearly 3K for an instrument with a stacked heel. I am sure that it promotes all sorts of things such wood conservation but I still can't get past it. I wonder what the upgrade price is for a one piece neck? Don't take this as a highjack... You will have an awesome banjo and I truly believe the Cimarron is a great banjo for the price. The Patriot seems like a heck of a deal too.

 I know how you feel.  I got my Deering a few weeks ago.  You won't believe the difference between a cheap banjo and a good quality instrument.  I almost had to learn all over again after plucking on my Fender for a year.  Best described as the handling difference between a Lamborghini and a Pinto.

Rob and everyone in the shop is excited for you!
The Cimarron is a rock solid banjo that plays easy and sounds great. It's got all the guts of a banjo costing twice as much.
Piscesgrrl's custom banjo is one of the most creative banjos we've ever built.
We can't wait to hear what you think of them!!

Rob used to stack his heels much like Taylor guitars. In addition to conserving wood they made a solid banjo heel. Some folks didn't like them cosmetically so we started making all of our heels solid. Everything that's come out of the shop in the last few years has had a solid heel.

I bought a Used Bishline Salty Dog a few weeks ago and took it in to Rob's Shop to be Set Up. I was impressed with His Shop, but more impressed with His Passion for Building Banjos. I doubt if You could find a nicer Gentleman any where in the Banjo business. I think if You bought one of His Banjos, You would have excellent Customer Service for life.
