It was some years ago, and I've taken it to a few Art & Crapft fairs, a couple festivals, and I got a LOT of "OOH!" and "AAH!!", but I got no "Here's a bunch a' money, and gimme that!"
So it's listed as "Used", since it's been played some.
Here's a sound bite:

$200 plus shipping. It's not real heavy, but they charge extra for giant boxes.

Unfortunately my hearing aid won't pick up notes that low.

Nothing I can do to help you, Mumblepeg. Sorry to be unhelpful.
For those of you who are interested in the materials, it's a mahogany neck on a maple heel. Maple fingerboard, with small holes, rather than inlays, as side markers.

hats off to you Mike that thing sounds great.now you got me wanting to make one

Go ahead and make one, then.
Might try hunting around for a used drum, 14 or 16 inch, so as to have the body, head, and tensioning hardware already there.
The body won't be strong enough for the two bolts and co-rods that a BG banjo takes, but keep this in mind:
Gourds aren't all that strong, either, so the builders run the dowel stick all the way through, hang the strings on the end of that, and the string tension barely affect the walls at all.

The head is a REMO permanently tensioned head.
It was an idea which apparently didn't really catch on. Remo doesn't seem to be making them any more.
But the local drum store had some, from a while back.

I'll make you one, if you want. But, considering the shipping rates from mere to there, it would be far less expensive to make your own.
Just in case you felt as if you might be encroaching upon my territory by not hiring me for the job:
I hereby grant permission to you, and everybody, to build whatever size, shape, and style of instruments they want.
