The berry cobbler was a success!

My recipe was requested.

sack of three berries [cost co]   in the bottom of a 14 inch. D.O.

half cup of flour, one cup sugar sprinkled on top.

Mix white cake mix, and pour all over berries.

Put a solid ring of prestarted briquettes on lid ,and 4 under the pot.

Change your briquetts at 45 min. In one hr. don,t leave the pot.

Don,t lift the lid or you will lose your heat.

Use your nose ,if it smells done it is done, if it smells burned your too late.

Trust your nose you can do it.

serve with icecream.

Thanks!  I'm always looking for dutch oven recipes.  No butter in your recipe?

You're right about the smell -- you can just tell.  It's never as soon as you'd like, but you've got to be patient.

Thanks again.

Here is a link to AETN Arkansas Outdoors.

If you scroll to the bottom of the page Phyllis Spears with the Arkansas Game and Fish has an 11 minute video on dutch oven cooking.  There are also a bunch of dutch oven recipes on the website.

Thought that might be interesting to some folks.

No butter.  But you can substitute berries for fruits, like peaches and spice cake, cherries and chocolate cake,

apple crisp made with oatmeal.
