In my search for a banjo i came across this company bishline banjo's. Now im nowhere near a player yet. I would say 3 shades of green on the beginner scale...LOL These seem to be some fine, fine instruments. Does anyone here own one? OH, and i hope they have a payment plan!!!!

This is a coincidence, I had never heard of Bishline banjos before, and now 2 people have posted about them here on BHO in one day. BHO member D.W. mentioned in another thread that he had one. I agree that they are beautiful banjos!

I have one on order. Once I played a Bishline I knew I had to have one.

One of the cleanest sounding banjos I've played. On my short list of banjos to own.

I've had an opportunity to both play and set up some Bishlines. Definitely part of the cream of the crop, and the customer service is second to none.

You should also check out this thread.
There are quite a few responses on it from Bishline owners, myself included. I bought my custom "exotic wood" From them in Aug/Sept of 2009. RIght after I ordered/commissioned mine, "Steve Miller of the "Steve Miller Band" commissioned a custom, and then purchased a few more. This year, Dave Matthews of "The Dave Matthews Band" Commissioned Bishlines first ever 6 string model . Dave was probably familiar with the company from having played with "Danny Barnes".
They've also recently announced three new models. Your best bet would be to call them up and talk to them about what you're looking for, they are very accessable and friendly.
And for what it's worth, I've got the photos they sent me through the stages of my "build" on my BHO homepage.
They're a quality shop, with the one thing advertising cannot purchase- a good word of mouth. .

If you are on facebook, look at the some of the projects Rob has posted pictures of. Very innovative and his craftsmanship looks outstanding.

I'm very happy with my custom Bishline, a tunneled fifth string walnut woody... some pictures of it are on my homepage. I echo all the sentiments about their quality and customer service!

Jerry, you are right. Their customer service is what customer service should be-honest, fast, personable, and kind.

One thing you rarely see for sale is a used Bishline. I would say that says a lot on it's own... I love the Salty Dog.

+ another 1 on Bishlines quality and customer service!
When I was shopping for someone to build my custom banjo I considered several companies. Rob seemed excited about what I wanted to do and actually acted like he wanted my business (unlike some others), all without pressuring me. I recieved pictures throughout the build and am 110% happy with the finished product, almost a year and a half later.
Rob and his crew are top notch!

Good little company with big hearts and brains. Cannot go wrong with these guys or their banjos.

Check out Rob's youtube page : youtube.com/user/BishlineBanjos , Bunch of different videos on different banjo's etc.

Wow...those Bishlines sound fantastic (and not bad to look at, either). I think the Cimmaron just jumped onto my wish list.
Great website, as well. The videos are really well done, and sound quality of the samples is first rate.

I rarely post on the Hangout, but thought I'd chime in on this topic. I've got a custom Heirloom that Rob and the guys built for me in early 2009. It's a great banjo, and he and his staff were great to work with!
