folk-school.org used to have bluegrasss banjo (and other instrument) classes. I think currently they only have clawhammer banjo.
If you don't mind driving to New Athens, IL (south of Belleville), The Bluegrass Shack is there and she is a good teacher. She also has paid jam sessions as well. The website is:
