Not a diet topic, actually, (though that would give me a chance to brag that I have lost 55 pounds on Weight Watchers and swimming). I just think we need a new term for all aluminum rim banjos- Bottlecaps and non-bottlecap alike, so I'm proposing the acronym LOCARB for Low cost Cast Aluminum Rim Banjo.
Anybody with me?

I lke it. and it's easier to type and spell than bottelcap..........botlecap..............bottlecup..........aluminum rimmed starter instruments.

Funny how the same people who like them prefer LOCARB and those that don't like them prefer CARB.
Me, I'm going with LOCARB, if for no other reason that it implies the lower weight, a prime reason for having one (other than the cost).

Not trying to nitpick, but I never said I didn't like them ! I've had 3 of them and tinkering with a 4th right now. Gonna try the wood rim liner routine just for kicks. I just think the shorter the acronym the better. JMHO ![]()

There are some cool aluminum rim banfos out there. I have a saga that aluminum and has the buttressed tone ring. It sounds way good. I use when I want something lighter or camping.
