I wanted to publicly thank Bart Reiter for his excellent banjos and more than that, his excellent service way down the road.

I am now on my third Reiter banjo and currently have two of the three.

Bart recently did a little refurb on my 1993 Grand Concert. I am amazed at the results and the quick turnaround. Unlike many other experiences..he did what he said he would do, when he said he would do it ,for exactly the price he quoted.   The big boys should take note.

Thanks Bart

I know how you feel.  I linked this to the Bart Reiter banjo group.

I played a Bart Reiter Standard Fretless yesterday.  It was a little intimidating in the way that driving a sports car is:  you know that it's the same thing as your Yugo, but if you punch it, everybody knows it, and it usually gets you in trouble.  It rang and growled and nearly made me go check my drawers after I hit that G string.  It was perfectly beautiful in its simplicity. I can't wait to figure out how I'm going to manage bringing it home with me.

But I now understand why you all appreciate the man and his banjo's so much.

I bought a Reiter White Lady 2 years ago off the hangout classifieds and will never sell. Excellent tone and playability. Workmanship is also second to none. A real pleasure to play.

Here is the link to the Bart Reiter Banjos group page.  Everyone is invited to participate.  I think it has become a good central source for all the threads and posts related to these banjos.

Finally picked up one of Bart's banjos a couple of months ago, a standard.  I can't figure out why it took me so long.   The neck is the best feeling neck I've owned.   Amazing that one guy does it all.

Bart built me a Tubaphone last year and it is my one and only banjo now. Too late to get all the fancy inlay and wood but the craftsmanship is stellar.

It just so happens that I have a Bart Reiter Standard for sale in the Classifieds section.  It's a great banjo.

After purging myself of most my banjos last year, the Reiter Tubaphone is the only openback I've kept.  -I almost sold it a couple of years ago and I'm glad I didn't.

I purchased what was reputedly the last Whyte Laydie De Luxe from Elderly in 1999 and got it chrome plated...an astoundingly built banjo and a pleasure to play.

Bart is a class act.  3,500 banjos to date and still going strong.  What an amazing legacy he's creating in both quality and quantity of instruments.

I own a Reiter long neck that he made for me about 20 years ago.  Really enjoy playing it a great deal, and get many compliments on the quality of the looks and sound of the banjo. Still my main banjo.

I LOVE my Reiter A scale Standard and Round Peak models.

After messing around with a $25 Jap Pirles off and on for 40 years, various styles from Dixieland, Classical, Folk, Chicago tuned jazz, and never realizing what Clawhammer was until a little over two years ago, I ordered the Round Peak from Mass St. Music. It arrived while I was in ICU after a horrific motorcycle wreck. The first word I scribbled out to my wife, while still on the ventilator was "BANJO?".

My Reiters have been part of my rehab for the last two years, and my adult son has taken up old time banjo with me. (He is disabled, end stage renal failure and on dialysis.) We have had a blast learning together.

I'm envious of you guys who have Reiter Long Neck models. Maybe one day I'll luck onto one. Til then I'll keep up the frailing, and work on Seeger and other folk styles on the side. Folk is still one of my old loves from high school and college.

Thanks to Bart for two great banjos, and to those of you on the Hangout who helped me in the process that led to the purchase of the Round Peak.

Now, wouldn't a Reiter Fretless be a nice addition to the herd?

Yes. Fretless is a whole other universe.
