Alternative options
1. :Two squares of plywood, four bar clamps.
Put the banjo between the squares, and the clamps will push the tension hoop down far enough that you can get a few ordinary hooks in, through brackets that are not obstructed by the plywood's corners.
2: Four long, thin roundhead bolts, four washers, four spacers, four nuts.
Bend the heads over, hook them onto the tension hoop, put them through the brackets, put the spacers on, so that the washers and nuts are below the bottom of the pot, and wrench down the nuts until the regular hooks can be applied.
The bolt heads can be padded with several layers of duct tape, to prevent scratching the tension hoop finish, and the spacers can be copper tubing against the bottom of the bracket, or even wooden bars across the bottom of the pot, not even touching the brackets. (Like a clock face, from 7 to 10 and 5 to 2).
