Does anyone know what those signs that clip onto a mic stand that has the name of the group is called?
Or where/if you can buy them?
I often see them in old pictures of the Grand Ol Opry and other big concert halls gigs.
I really like them and I'd like one for The Barkers Vale Brothers- if I can't order one I'll just make one but even so I'd rather like to know what to call it.

I think Gareth might be looking for a mic stand flag, and not a microphone flag.
You might think about just adapting a stand-mounted drink holder, or possibly a commonly available mic stand mounted sheet music holder.

A sign shop should be able to make you something if you wanted just a flat sign. Something shaped like in the photo above you could probably make at home pretty cheap. Maybe some good grade plywood, painted white and get vinyl letter cut with the nameyou desire.

Or try your local trophy shop. I am sure they'll be happy to engrave one on plastic sheeting for you.
Then stick some broom holders from the hardware store to the back side and clip to your mic stand.

Yes you were right Rudy, I'm after a mic stand "flag"(so that's what they're called , no wonder my google search turned up nothing!
