Searching the site, I found an archived topic "How would you do distance collaboration?"banjohangout.org/archive/183695
We're giving it a shot at the Flatpickers Hangout in our Collaborations Group.

If you need any ideas, you might wanna contact Doug Knecht. If i remember, he was doing quite a few online collabs, and is a really nice guy. I did a few with him and enjoyed it thoroughly.

Hi O.D.,
<<would I need to join the flatpickers hangout?>>
I think you would have to sign up at the Flatpickers Hangout. You could download Collaboration tracks and add your own parts, but would have to be a member to upload the results and post comments.
<<How do you get involved in this?>>
Apart from that, your involvement would be "ground floor," helping us figure out that same thing. We've accomplished a few, but it's still a work in progress, and we can use all the help we can get!
Luke,
Thanks for the info. I read Doug's Bio. He would be a great help to us, but I don't know how to go about asking. Maybe he'll read this...

just shoot him a private message and i'm sure he'll be willing to give you advice, shoot he might even like to pitch in. Who knows.

I just sent him a friends request. I told him you said he'd help. LOL, just kidding about throwing you under a bus, but I did say you suggested him as a valuable resource, and asked for his help.
Thanks,
Tom

John,
I'm not sure what's going on there. I'm a member of the Flatpickers and Banjo Hangouts. I'm about to join the Mando and Dobro sites. I'll report back if there were any issues.
Looking forward to seeing you at the Flatpickers Hangout.
Tom
