These are great for watchin sporting events or any time you want a beer.
1 # jar unsalted peanuts
¼ stick butter
½ tsp popcorn salt
1 ½ tsp cayenne pepper
¼ tsp garlic powder
#8539; tsp MSG
½ tsp onion powder
Melt the butter in a small sauce pan; add all the seasonings and let them sizzle a couple of minutes. Be careful to not let the butter brown. In a large mixing bowl, stir the butter mixture onto the peanuts. Spread seasoned peanuts one layer deep on a cookie sheet and bake at 250° for 30 minutes, then let sit for 30 minutes to cool and dry (or until they are no longer soggy to eat).

That is one I'll keep. Thanks. Think I might edit the MSG.
My neurotransmitters work very well as is.
Does it matter at all if those unsalted peanuts have been compulsively roasted already?

They sound good Jerry!.
Have you tried heated nuts?.
They had pistachios & peanuts in these machines that kept them warm in some of the bars I used to frequent.
I used to stop at Macs on the way home & buy a bag of pistachios & ask for a small paper bag.
I'd dump them in the bag & give them a quick zap in the nuker.
Stuff them in your pocket and it's Win Win, You got some good energy food to get you home & a nice warm pocket!.
I've had almonds sraight out of the smoker & they're to kill for.

You can't buy a 1# jar of "unroasted" peanuts, so being "compulsively roasted" can only be good.
I haven't tried heated nuts, but now that I've heard of them, I will.

Although I don't even consider having A beer & getting behind the wheel now a days.
I used to say my limit was 5 beers before I called a cab.
I borrowed a book written in the U.S. called ...How to beat the breathalyzer.
It was written by Ex cops gone bad.
They said nobody could smell alcohal over peanuts.

I hate to tell you this, but they were wrong. My husband drinks beer and eats peanuts and you can still definitely smell that awful beer smell on his breath so don't try it!

I make curried pecans as a holiday treat but at the end of my day, a few handfuls of really salty peanuts is just fine.
I think that I can get unsalted bulk (roasted) peanuts at the bulk/health food store. Will check tomorrow.
Sure would do them no harm to do more time in the oven.

My apologies, some people can't read the amounts:
1 pound unsalted, dry roasted peanuts
1/4 stick butter (2 Tbs)
1/2 tsp popcorn salt
1 1/2 tsp cayenne
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/8 tsp MSG
1/2 tsp onion powder

I'm about to watch a good movie, I hope. Wish I had some peanuts lol.
We got some nuke popcorn but i can't stand it too many hulls. The popcorn is good but I'd be spitting those things for an hour or so, ain't worth it.
Beer is not my thing but I sure could stand a good shot of shine.![]()

Wow, Paul, now you're talking. I had an old fellow show me how to use a goldpan and make shine. The first sip went down like fire, but after that it tasted like Karo Corn Syrup. I've never had any that good before or since. He would cut it with water to 100 proof; I'm just guessing that the store-bought 86 proof isn't nearly as good.

Hmm. Now you give me ideas. Wonder what peanuts would taste like if you heated up some sorghum or molasses and poured over 'em after you got 'em out of the oven? I know I sure do like a homemade buscuit and sorghum!
