Any one ever tried oysters on the grill? (Not in the shell)
I just want to try something different and not fry them
I prefer charcoal grill.
Suggestions ideas welcome please!

I like roasted oysters and baked also. Anyway, except on the half shell. I can't eat them or escargo or fish with eyes and head left in tact. Micki

Ya gotta do them in the shell.
I eat them once a week in the summer.

Get an old cookie sheet. Oystsers are hell on your grill & burners.
Set your oysters cup side down.
Shut the lid & when they start to open use an oyster knife or a flat screwdriver to open them taking care not to spill out that good juice.
I wear an old oven mitt & set them on a dish towel to crack them open.
Sqeeze lemon or lime and add any or all of the following.
Butter
Garlic
chives
hot sauce
Worchestershire

Let them cook more or eat them then. Now I'm hungry!.

Are these already shucked?. Shut me up if so.
I saw that Reynolds has this new grill paper. Kinda like parchment paper with holes in it so you can grill veggies & small stuff without it falling through.
That might work.

Tommy, you need one of these. I have a couple different ones and they are great. Just spray a little nonstick stuff and grill away!

I usually grill oysters in the whole shell and pull them off just when they begin to crack open and maybe steam a little. Put whatever you like on them or nothing at all. I like them soft. I also like them raw ;-) I like oyster stew, and I've had oysters Rockefeller a couple times and I like that too. Never grilled them without at least a half shell though, I think I might rather make up some kind of saute and do them in a pan than grill them on a bbq. Probably come out too done for me.

I ate a boat-load of small beach oysters in the years that I lived in Australia.
In the half-shell, bacon bits and a shot of Worcestershire + salt.
Breakfast of champions. No doubt about it.
