I am thinking about this banjo as my upgrade. It will have to be a keeper, I don't have much money and it's way out of my price range as it is.

I love mine. I honestly can't fault it, structuraly or musically. I use mine as a 4-string Plectrum banjo which allows me to play a bit of bluegrass when the fancy strikes. Here are two videos. In the first I play my usual way with it, in the second I make a poor attempt at bluegrass, only because I was asked to. Please forgive my bluegrass doodling.

Nothing shabby about your bluegrass playing Rob, sounded great to me and it really showed off the Eagle ll banjo..................................regards from south of the border,... Peter V.

I've had 6 banjos, one of which was a Gibson ESS, while searching for that lifetime keeper. While I liked the Gibson, it was too heavy. I've played the Eagle II and find it is a lifetime keeper. My search is over, I'll be keeping my Goodtime and Eagle II as my keepers. I've sold all the others, not that they werent good banjos, These two banjos just fit what I am looking for as lifetime units. This is a professional banjo, it just happens to be at a price point, currently, that is somewhat affordable.

I can't imagaine anyone not being pleased with this unit.
