"You Stupid Donkey!!!!" (one of my personal faves of his sayings) Any show that he's on in America, he turns up the screaming and belittling. He's not as bad on the English shows. I think he's just giving the American producers what they want.

I have already seen how people are treated in "boot camp". Tear 'em down and build 'em back up. Same thing but the difference is on a TV show, you can always leave when you want to.

Haven't seen the show but I've noticed in others that they always seem to get Brits to play the @$$#0)&!s in those "tear 'em a new one" shows? Why is that?
I agree with other posters - somebody talks to me that way I'd walk out for fear I'd deck the jerk if I stayed.

Actually I think he a successful chef with a rather prestigious professional pedigree. Nevertheless, I agree with you.
I figure that in a career of talking to people like that, he has probably learned to handle himself in a fight. Kitchens are dangerous places, so I imagine a brawl in a professional one would be anything but pretty. Still, if it came to pass, I'd be rooting for you. :-)

Actually, he probably would respect me. When I was cooking professionally I worked my butt off. I was careful to produce the best possible quality and let nothing go to waste. I was always willing to learn and never pretended that I had all the answers. If you watch other shows that Ramsey has done - Kitchen Nightmares comes to mind - those are attributes he looks for in cooks.
If I were still cooking professionally, I'd give a lot to work with Ramsey for a while. The guy may be difficult, but he really knows his stuff. And to have a stint with someone of his level on your resume is very attractive when time comes for the next gig.

Gordon Ramsey? He's the guy who goes into restaurants that are failing because of multiple reasons, pin points the reasons, and then goes about correcting the problems.
Its rather interesting how many restaurant owners and chefs will admit they're failing by doing things their own way
but just the same will bicker with Ramsey when he shows them how to save their business and jobs.
I suppose there are lots of student musicians like that, they can't make a decent go at playing their instrument and playing with people but give them a few suggestions and their reply is excuses, excuses, excuses of why they can't make some changes.
