Last weekend it was cold beer and hot boiled peanuts for the play-offs. This weekend my wife said she wants to make a big pot of chili so we can have chili dogs for the AFC and NFC championship games. And of course cold beer and Fritos goes good with chili dogs.
Conference Championships:
NFC
Green Bay
Chicago
Sun., Jan. 23, 3:00 PM ET FOX
AFC
New York Jets
Pittsburgh
Sun., Jan. 23, 6:30 PM ET CBS

I'm just envious that your wife WANTS you to eat chili dogs, drink beer and watch football.

Chili's a good idea for this weekend, along with some skillet cornbread ;-)

Ha! Beat ya' to it. Chili was LAST weekend while watching the Bears destroy the Seahawks. Haven't figured out this weekend's fare yet.

I built a big pot of chili last weekend for the Pats/Jets game.
The chili was good.
The Pats were not.

Wonder how many tons of hamburg is used in one day.
I love hamburg in chili, bean soup, spaghetti, with eggs, With a dough boy, rolled up in a steamed hot dog bun and ten thousand other ways. Even raw once in a while. ![]()

I'm building a large pot of "Italian chili": Pasta Fagioli with hot Italian sausage and cannellini beans.
