I have recently heard about "Hummingbird Cake", and now I want to eat one. I would like to read some discussion about this cake and its history and your variations, etc. I have never made one, but I am offering this recipe that I found, for an opener.
Thanks, Brad

•1 can (8oz) crushed pineapple, well drained
•1 cup chopped pecans
•2 cups chopped firm ripe banana

My mom use to make this and I loved it. I always requested it for my birthday cake. You should try it.

MMMMMMMMMMMMMM, hummingbird cake.
There used to be an amazing soul food restaurant in Waterville, Maine of all places. She made a hummingbird cake that I can still taste. I bet I could eat a whole one all by my lonesome.

Substitue chow mein noodles for the pecans on the frosting.
Call 'em "hummingbird bones".

I don't even want to think of what the calorie count is on a piece of this cake. Me thinks there are enough calories that it has to be good.
