Hi Anyone,
On the 6th of February I would like to have learned to play the Banjopart of Dueling Banjos (maybe an easy version of it)
I'm looking for a download or a DVD, so I can watch and learn.
My biggest problem is, that it's a FOUR string banjo I would like to play it on - NOT a five string. (five string leasons are easy to find) :)
Please Help anyone - I'm running out of time to learn it.

opening chords are G-G-G-C-G
the tune is essentially a variation of Yankee Doodle, much of the rest is scales as has been already stated

The songs is in G.
The first run is: b c d b c a b g a
The yankee doodle is d g g a b g b a; d g g a b g f# f e--fast part
Fast part chords are C G D G (any fast picking will please the audience if you get the first runs correct. Cross-picking is good. Loud strumming will work too).
The G run part chords are G twice then C G D
G: ggg a b c d c b C: ccc c d e f g f c D: ddd e f# g a g f#
And the turnaround chords are GGG C G

Thank you very much for all your help - unfurtunately I don't know how to follow chords, but need to see it played.
I bought a leason from freebanjovideos.com - which was perfect for me, until i discovered it was played on a 5 string.
So that's what I'm looking for, just on a four string. Any ideas?

Can somebody post the version by Reno and Arthur Smith, 5 string and 4 string? That may be way too "hot" for someone to learn, but it is the original, and it did include a tenor banjo.

The 'original' version is markedly different from the subsequent version used in the film and would probably only confuse the issue

tune it like a mandolin, GDAE then use two finger chords. Then it is pretty straight ahead.

I'm thinking you might want to be a little more familiar with your instrument before you commit to some kind of performance, whatever it is you have, on Feb. 6th.
The "back-and-forth" sections between guitar and banjo are fairly easy to figure out. As for the rest (and I don't know what you need it for; you didn't say), you might get by with a rhythmic strumming of the chords along with the guitar part (if there will be a guitar).

At least I didn´t use the 3 extra vowels, that we have in danish - otherwise your spell checker would have really severe problems.
